I wasn’t raised in what I would call a particularly religious household. My mom was raised in the Lutheran tradition and my dad wasn’t particularly religious so, I guess kind of by default, I was raised in the Lutheran church. I went to Sunday school and we pretty much just attended church services on Easter and Christmas.

When my wife and I got married, I converted to Catholicism and was a practicing Catholic for many years (I still attend mass occasionally and believe in the teachings of Jesus). While there are many devout Catholics and a lot of good people who follow the Catholic faith, I found myself feeling increasingly out of touch with some aspects of the Church’s teaching, especially in light of the horrific child sexual abuse scandals and its stance on the LGBTQ community and a woman’s right to choose. So, I began to look for other places and ways to continue to get in touch with my spirituality.

Most recently, I began meditating, practicing yoga, and exploring Eastern spirituality including Buddhism and the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda. You can read more about him and his teachings here: https://yogananda.org/paramahansa-yogananda

May you be safe,
May you be happy,
May you be healthy,
May you live life with ease.

Namaste.
